MANTIS DRY FIN

MANTIS FIN in a weightier rubber, made for drysuit diving

MANTIS DRY FIN is the strap fin GULL made specifically for drysuit diving, tuned for weight, balance and propulsion. It keeps MANTIS FIN's character but uses a slightly weightier rubber, so you can leave the ankle weights behind when you dive dry. GULL made it for divers who are confident in their leg strength and want more dynamic propulsion. Choose spring straps or adjustable rubber straps.

Highlights

Jet holes that send the water back

Jet holes funnel water backwards, cutting turbulence and side planing as you kick. The new-design holes have wide entrances and narrow exits for a powerful jet flow.

Weight lower on the leg than ankle weights

The heavier fin shifts the centre of gravity further down your leg than conventional ankle weights, so it is easier to keep your balance underwater. (GULL compares it with wearing 500 g ankle weights.)

Compared with MANTIS FIN

A bigger boot pocket makes the fins easier to get on and off, and the fins carry enough mass that you need no ankle weights. GULL says that if you are confident in your leg strength and want more dynamic propulsion, these fins are made for you.

FAQ

Spring strap or rubber strap: what is the difference?

The fin is the same; the strap and the colours differ. The spring-strap version comes in black, white and Neon Yellow (S and M) and Rose Pink (S only). The adjustable rubber-strap version comes in black and white (S and M). Still unsure? Ask us on LINE.

Which spring straps come fitted?

According to GULL, size S fins come with XS spring straps, and size M fins with S spring straps.

How do I pick a size?

Go by your dry boots. GULL lists World Dive and Mobby's Dick dry boots: S 24–26 cm · M 26–28 cm. GULL says the table is a guide and fit depends on your feet. Between sizes? Ask us on LINE, and you can exchange sizes within 7 days if they are unused and have not been in the water (you cover shipping both ways unless we sent the wrong item or it is faulty).

Is it OK for beginners?

GULL does not rate it by experience level; it made it for drysuit diving and for divers confident in their leg strength. If you don't dive dry, see EMDEN, which GULL calls perfect for novice scuba divers. Not sure? Ask us on LINE.

How heavy are they?

Each fin weighs 1,550 g (S) or 1,690 g (M), measured on black, and is 525–565 mm long. The weight is on purpose: it takes the place of ankle weights in a drysuit.

Is it genuine if I buy here?

GULL warns against buying from unauthorised dealers. Dive Records is an authorised dealer; ask us on LINE if you have any questions.
