Wind

An entry-level full-foot fin, light and compact for travel

Wind is Aqualung's entry-level full-foot fin for scuba or snorkelling in warm water, made in Italy. Aqualung calls it lightweight yet robust, compact yet comfortable, and ideal for travel. You wear it barefoot, no boots required. The soft foot pocket is shaped to the anatomy of the foot, and a full pocket lets you feel more clearly what each kick does in the water. Grip on the inner sole keeps your foot from sliding inside the fin, and a rigid sole protects your foot and passes your kick smoothly to the blade. The blade is light polypropylene with rubber inserts for durability and elasticity, and structured side ribs give a progressive, controlled flex. A heel tab helps you in and out, and the yellow version is made with Aqualung's Hi-Vis Technology, so it is easy to see underwater.

Highlights

A soft pocket shaped to your foot

The full foot pocket is made of soft material and designed for the anatomy of the foot, so you wear it barefoot, no boots required. A heel tab at the back helps you in and out.

Feel your kick, keep your foot still

Aqualung says a full pocket lets you feel more clearly what each kick does in the water. Grip on the inner sole stops your foot sliding around inside the fin, so you are less likely to lose a fin or waste energy through a moving foot.

Two-material blade: polypropylene and rubber

The blade is made of lightweight polypropylene with rubber inserts for durability and elasticity. Structured side ribs make the fin flex progressively and under control, according to Aqualung.

Rigid sole, power to the blade

Under the foot pocket is a rigid sole. Aqualung says it gives optimal foot protection and passes your power smoothly to the blade.

Hi-Vis yellow, easy to see underwater

The Yellow/Black Wind is made with Aqualung's Hi-Vis Technology, so the fins are easy to see underwater, according to Aqualung.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Beginners looking for their first fins: Aqualung calls Wind an entry-level fin
  • Warm-water scuba divers and snorkellers who go barefoot: a full-foot fin, no boots required
  • Divers who travel: Aqualung calls it lightweight, compact and ideal for travel
Maybe not for
  • Divers who wear boots: Wind is a full-foot fin; for boots, Aqualung makes Phazer and Storm Max, open-heel fins worn with boots

FAQ

How do I pick a size?

Aqualung's page lists seven sizes: 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44 and 46, without saying which size system they use, and we don't have Aqualung's size chart for this model yet. Send us your shoe size on LINE and we'll help you pick. You can exchange sizes within 7 days if unused and never in the water (you cover shipping both ways unless we sent the wrong item or it is faulty).

Do I need boots?

No. Wind is a full-foot fin you wear barefoot, no boots required. If you dive in boots, look at Aqualung's open-heel fins such as Phazer or Storm Max.

What is the difference between Wind and Stratos 3?

Both are Aqualung full-foot fins for warm water, worn barefoot. Wind is the entry-level fin: a polypropylene blade with rubber inserts and side ribs, a rigid sole and a heel tab, in sizes 34–46, and Aqualung calls it ideal for travel. Stratos 3 has a four-channel technopolymer blade with side wings and rubber side ribs, and Aqualung moved its bending point back for a more powerful kick with less effort. Sizes 36–46.

Is it OK for beginners?

Yes. Aqualung calls Wind an entry-level fin for scuba or snorkelling. The pocket is soft, grip on the inner sole keeps your foot in place, and a heel tab helps you in and out. Not sure about size or model? Ask us on LINE.

How long and heavy are they?

Aqualung says Wind is lightweight and compact, but its page gives no length or weight figures. If you need them before you order, for example to pack for a trip, ask us on LINE.

Which colours are there?

Two: Yellow/Black, made with Aqualung's Hi-Vis Technology, and Blue/Black.
