Storm

An open-heel fin you wear barefoot, made for travel

Storm is Aqualung's open-heel fin made to be worn barefoot, and Aqualung calls it ideal for travel. Each fin is made in a single material, Monprene, which Aqualung says gives durability and strength while keeping the weight exceptionally light. The foot pocket gives you the comfort of a full-foot fin with the adjustment of an open heel, and a silicone bungee strap with a heel pad makes it easy on and off. The strong, compact blade has moulded channels that guide water over it, the underside grips on deck, and a hole in the blade makes the fins easy to carry and store. Junior and adult sizes.

Highlights

One material: Monprene

The whole fin is made in a single TPV compound, Monprene. Aqualung says it gives durability and strength while keeping the weight exceptionally light, which is what a travelling diver needs.

Full-foot comfort, open-heel adjustment

The ergonomic foot pocket is made for bare feet. It gives the comfort of a full-foot fin with the adjustment of an open heel, and Aqualung says it keeps you comfortable and free, and prevents fatigue.

Compact blade with moulded channels

The strong, compact blade aids efficient power transfer. Moulded channels guide the water flow over the blade, which Aqualung says gives strong and efficient propulsion.

Silicone bungee strap with heel pad

The silicone bungee strap has a heel pad and makes the fins easy to put on and take off. The size is colour-coded on the strap's protector and on the blade insert, to make the size easy to identify.

Grip underneath, and a hole for carrying

The underside has excellent grip to reduce slipping on deck, and a hole in the blade makes the fins easy to carry and store.

Not sure about the size?

  • Stand on paper and measure from heel to the tip of your longest toe.

FAQ

How do I pick a size?

There are four sizes: XS/S, M, L/XL and XXL. Aqualung makes junior and adult sizes but does not say which are which, and we don't have Aqualung's size chart for this model yet, so send us your shoe size on LINE and we'll help you pick. You can exchange sizes within 7 days if unused and never in the water (you cover shipping both ways unless we sent the wrong item or it is faulty).

Do I need boots?

No. Storm is an open-heel fin that Aqualung makes to be worn barefoot, held on by a silicone bungee strap with a heel pad. If you want to dive in boots, Aqualung makes Storm Max for use with boots.

What is the difference between Storm and Storm Max?

Both are made in one material, Monprene, with a silicone bungee strap, moulded channels on the blade and a hole in the blade. Storm has a compact blade, is worn barefoot and comes in XS/S–XXL. Storm Max is a long fin worn with boots, with a Hydro Power Vent at the top of the foot pocket, in S–L.

Is it OK for beginners?

Aqualung does not name a skill level. It says the foot pocket keeps you comfortable and prevents fatigue, and the bungee strap is easy on and off. If you want the fin Aqualung designs for every level, from student to pro, look at Phazer, which is worn with boots. Not sure? Ask us on LINE.

How long and heavy are they?

Aqualung says Storm is exceptionally light, but its page gives no length or weight figures. If you need them before you order, for example to pack for a trip, ask us on LINE.

Which colours are there?

Three: Black, Blue and White.
