SCUBAPRO

MK25 EVO BT / G260 Carbon BT

The G260 tech system, upgraded with carbon fibre and Black Tech

SCUBAPRO calls this an upgrade to its popular G260 technical diving system: a carbon fibre front cover and a Black Tech finish for greater durability. The balanced piston MK25 EVO BT first stage resists freezing, has superb inhalation sensitivity and delivers air the moment you need it. The G260 Carbon BT second stage has a large diaphragm, metal internal parts and a high-flow exhaust valve for breathing sensitivity and resistance to freezing, and the carbon fibre cover makes it tougher still. It connects INT (yoke), and a padded zippered case comes in the box.

Highlights

Carbon fibre cover, Black Tech finish

The G260 Carbon BT second stage has a carbon fibre front cover, which SCUBAPRO describes as lightweight and able to resist substantial shocks. A scratch-resistant Black Tech coating on the metal parts of both stages protects them from salt water and corrosion.

MK25 EVO BT: air-balanced piston with XTIS

The MK25 EVO BT first stage uses an air-balanced flow-through piston in a Black Tech-coated brass body and delivers air instantly on demand. It carries SCUBAPRO's patented XTIS (Extended Thermal Insulating System), and SCUBAPRO says it offers excellent resistance to freezing. Two opposing HP ports and five LP ports sit on a swivel turret (four high-flow, one axial super high-flow).

G260 Carbon BT: hose on the left or the right

A large diaphragm, metal internal parts and a high-flow exhaust valve give breathing sensitivity and resistance to freezing. The air-balanced second stage valve sits in a reinforced technopolymer case, the hose attachment is reversible so the hose can come from the left or the right, and the hose is a super-flow hose.

Adjust your breathing, VIVA switch against free flows

The inhalation effort knob lets you adjust the breathing yourself, and the VIVA dive/pre-dive switch prevents free flows in cold water or when the second stage is used as an octopus.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Cold-water and technical divers: SCUBAPRO calls it great for both
  • Divers who want a tougher G260, with a carbon fibre front cover and a Black Tech coating against scratches and corrosion
  • Divers with a technical hose setup who need the second stage hose on the left or the right
  • Nitrox divers using mixes up to 40%
Maybe not for
  • Divers whose tanks have DIN valves: SCUBAPRO's page lists this system in INT (yoke) only, so ask us on LINE first
  • Divers using nitrox above 40%: SCUBAPRO rates it up to 40%, so ask us on LINE first

FAQ

How is it different from the regular MK25 EVO / G260?

SCUBAPRO calls it an upgrade to its G260 technical diving system. What it adds is a carbon fibre front cover on the second stage and a scratch-resistant Black Tech coating on the metal parts of both stages, which SCUBAPRO says gives greater durability.

Is there a DIN version?

SCUBAPRO's page lists this system in INT (yoke) only, the first stage that clamps onto the tank valve. If your tanks have DIN valves, ask us on LINE before you order.

Can I use it in cold water?

SCUBAPRO calls it great for cold or technical diving. The MK25 EVO BT first stage has XTIS insulation and excellent resistance to freezing, the G260 Carbon BT's metal internal parts and high-flow exhaust valve resist freezing, and the VIVA dive/pre-dive switch prevents free flows in cold water.

Can I use it with nitrox?

Yes. SCUBAPRO rates it for nitrox mixes up to 40%.

How many ports does it have?

Two opposing HP ports and five LP ports on a swivel turret: four high-flow and one axial super high-flow.
