LANZE

Light, wide and twin-lens, with lenses that stay put

LANZE is a low-volume twin-lens mask that, GULL says, both new and experienced divers can use with peace of mind. It is very light, sees wide, and uses a new interlock frame: the frame is pressed down at the centre bridge and fixed with a screw, so the lenses stay in place even if the frame takes a hard knock on a dive. It has a volume of 115cc and weighs 215 g. GULL calls it ideal for skin diving, freediving and scuba.

Highlights

Interlock frame keeps the lenses in

Most masks hold the lens with a ring inside the frame and nothing else. LANZE presses the frame down at the centre bridge and fixes the whole assembly with a screw, a double grip that GULL says keeps the lenses in place even if the frame is badly damaged on a dive.

Low volume: 115cc, a 103° × 126° view

The small inner volume widens your view left, right, up and down; GULL says the field of view is exceptionally wide even among its own masks. GULL's drawing shows 103° vertical and 126° horizontal. Weight: 215 g.

Curled-lip skirt with built-in strap clip

The skirt ends in a curled lip that seals well and is less likely to leave marks on your skin. The strap clip sits on the skirt, not the frame, so pulling the strap draws the edge along your face for a natural feel and a seal that keeps water out.

Leakless System: the seal holds when your face moves

Water usually gets in at the nose and mouth when gaps open in the seal: the mask rides up, your cheeks move as you take a mouthpiece, or you grin underwater. GULL shaped the mask to keep its fit when your facial muscles move.

Clear UV Care lenses

UV Care glass cuts about 45% of UV-A light, about twice ordinary glass according to GULL. That matches the protection of ordinary tinted glass, yet the lens stays as clear as normal glass, so the underwater world looks bright and sharp.

Who it is for
