VADER fanette is built on GULL's VADER, reduced in size overall for divers with smaller faces. It keeps the single-lens form and contoured body, with an amber UV420 AR or a Super Clear lens. Its tailored skirt reaches past the cheekbones for a better seal, and the low volume makes it easier to exhale into the mask to equalise it and to clear water. GULL calls it ideal for scuba and skin diving.

Leakless System
Leaks usually start when your face moves: the mask rides up, you fit a mouthpiece, or you grin underwater. The skirt wraps from outside the cheekbones, and the mask form is shaped to hold the seal as your face moves.
UV420 AR amber or Super Clear lens
The amber UV420 CUT AR lens blocks UV and HEV light to help protect the lutein in your eyes and raises contrast underwater; its AR coating lets about 95% of light through, against about 92% for a conventional lens. The Clear model uses Super Clear glass, refined to let the most light through, with fewer skirt reflections on the lens.
Low volume: 125cc
The low volume makes it easier to exhale into the mask to equalise it and to clear water. A 9.5° lens tilt keeps your view down to chest level. Weight: 223 g.

GULL made fanette smaller overall for smaller faces, and its catalogue says the size suits a wide range of face shapes. VADER fanette: 125cc, 223 g, 94° vertical and 108° horizontal view, with a skirt that reaches past the cheekbones and the Leakless System. VADER: 140cc, 246 g, 100° and 113°. Not sure which fits? Which lens does it have, and why does it look blue?
Every coloured frame has the amber (light yellow) UV420 CUT AR lens; GULL notes its reflective coating makes it look blue in photos. The Clear model (clear silicone) has the Super Clear lens.
Will it leak when I smile or bite a regulator?
GULL says leaks usually start around the mouth and nose: when the mask rides up, when you fit a mouthpiece, or when you grin underwater. The fanette's Leakless System wraps the skirt from outside the cheekbones to hold the seal as your face moves. How well it fits depends on your face, so ask us on LINE if unsure.
Can I adjust the strap wearing thick gloves?
Yes. The DX Spec buckle fine-tunes the strap while the mask is on, and GULL says you can adjust it one-handed even in thick gloves.
Is it OK for beginners?
GULL names no skill level for VADER fanette and calls it ideal for scuba and skin diving. If you are new, it helps to know that GULL designed the low volume to make it easier to exhale into the mask to equalise it and to clear water, and the drain skirt helps push water out when you clear.
