Leg3nd

For divers who put performance first, designed and made in France

Leg3nd is the regulator Aqualung offers for when performance is your highest priority. Aqualung says the Leg3nd shares the same breathing characteristics as the Leg3nd Elite and Leg3nd MBS. The over-balanced first stage has an Auto Closure Device (ACD), a permanent dry chamber, and deep ribs with an overmolded cap that delay ice in cold water. The second stage is pneumatically balanced. Its Venturi switch has an updated, ergonomic design, overmolded with a soft-touch elastomer you can work even in gloves, so you either allow or contain a natural free-flow. Designed and made in France.

Highlights

Breathes like the Leg3nd Elite and MBS (per Aqualung)

Aqualung says the Leg3nd shares the same breathing characteristics as the Leg3nd Elite and Leg3nd MBS. The first stage is over-balanced and the second stage is pneumatically balanced. Aqualung lists a work of breathing of 0.7 J/L. There are two HP ports and four MP ports.

Auto Closure Device (ACD) and dust cap

The first stage has an Auto Closure Device (ACD) and dust cap protection. The yoke screw is channelled to prevent water retention.

Built to resist ice in cold water

A permanent dry chamber improves the first stage's freeze resistance in cold water, and deep ribs with an overmolded cap delay ice forming over the external diaphragm. The second stage has a heat exchanger, and the DIN and yoke screws have a two-material Soft Grip surface that helps with cold hands.

A redesigned Venturi switch you work in gloves

The Venturi switch (MIN / MAX) has an updated, ergonomic design, overmolded with a soft-touch elastomer, so you control the airflow even in gloves and either allow or contain a natural free-flow. Opening channels in the cover reduce cracking effort by 20%, according to Aqualung, and an air channel deflector lowers exhalation effort.

Comfo-Bite mouthpiece and Aqua Flex hose

The Comfo-Bite mouthpiece, patented by Aqualung, has a palate bridge that reduces jaw fatigue and is made of hypoallergenic silicone. The mouthpiece is interchangeable and held by a reusable clip, and there is a lip shield. The purge and the exhaust cover are overmolded, and the Aqua Flex hose is flexible and lightweight, with dual protectors.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Divers who put performance first: Aqualung says the Leg3nd breathes like the Leg3nd Elite and Leg3nd MBS
  • Cold-water divers: a permanent dry chamber, deep ribs and an overmolded cap help resist ice
  • Divers in gloves: the soft-touch Venturi switch works even in gloves
  • Nitrox divers: Aqualung rates it up to 40% O₂ when new, out of the box (21% in Europe)
Maybe not for
  • Divers who also want to set the cracking effort: the Leg3nd has the Venturi switch only, while the Leg3nd Elite adds a separate cracking-effort adjuster and the Leg3nd MBS sets Venturi and inhalation effort with one control; ask us on LINE

FAQ

DIN or INT: which one should I choose?

It is how the first stage connects to the tank valve, so match the valves you dive with. Aqualung lists the first stage at 747 g (26 oz) in DIN and 957 g (34 oz) in INT (yoke), with a maximum working pressure of 300 bar in DIN and 232 bar in yoke. Not sure? Ask us on LINE.

What can I adjust on the second stage?

The Leg3nd has one second-stage adjustment: the Venturi switch, with MIN and MAX settings. For more control, the Leg3nd Elite adds a cracking-effort adjuster that works independently of its Venturi switch, and the Leg3nd MBS uses Aqualung's Master Breathing System to set the Venturi effect and inhalation effort together in one rotation. Ask us on LINE which suits you.

How easy is it to breathe?

Aqualung lists a work of breathing of 0.7 J/L. Opening channels in the cover reduce cracking effort by 20%, according to Aqualung, and an air channel deflector lowers exhalation effort.

Can I use it in cold water?

Aqualung gives the first stage a permanent dry chamber that improves freeze resistance in cold water, plus deep ribs and an overmolded cap that delay ice on the external diaphragm. The second stage has a heat exchanger, and the Soft Grip screws help with cold hands. Planning very cold dives? Ask us on LINE first.

Can I use it with nitrox?

Aqualung lists it as compatible up to 40% O₂ when new, out of the box (21% in Europe). Planning to dive nitrox? Ask us first.

Is it OK for beginners?

Aqualung does not name a skill level, but offers the Leg3nd for divers who put performance first, and the only second-stage control is the Venturi switch. Just starting and not sure which one to pick? Ask us on LINE.

How many ports does it have?

Two HP ports (7/16" UNF) and four MP ports (3/8" UNF).
