Zephyr Flex

Rigid enough not to collapse, soft enough to ease pressure on your mouth

Zephyr Flex is Aqualung's corrugated dive snorkel. The corrugate is made of two materials: a rigid one that keeps it from collapsing and a soft one that lets it flex, so there is less pressure on your mouth. An elliptical purge valve seals against incoming water and makes purging easy. The anatomical mouthpiece, in what Aqualung calls medical silicone, reduces jaw fatigue and swivels for a better fit. A soft splashguard on top helps reduce water entry at the surface when it is choppy. The D-shaped tube rests streamlined against your face, and the large retainer is easy to work even in thick gloves.

Highlights

A two-material corrugate: no collapse, still flexible

The corrugate uses two materials. A rigid skeleton keeps it from collapsing, and a soft material lets it flex, so the mouthpiece sits softly in your mouth with less pressure and less jaw fatigue.

Elliptical purge valve

The shaped, protected silicone valve is elliptical. Its shape seals against incoming water and makes it easy to purge water out.

A mouthpiece that swivels

The anatomical mouthpiece, in what Aqualung calls medical silicone, reduces jaw fatigue. It joins the corrugate on a sealed swivel that turns for a better fit.

A soft splashguard

The splashguard on top uses the same two-material build as the corrugate: rigid yet flexible. It helps reduce water entry at the surface when it is choppy, and Aqualung says it helps prevent potential injuries in crowded places such as dive clubs, classes and boats.

D-shaped tube, glove-friendly retainer

The D-barrel tube rests more streamlined against your face. The large, ergonomic snorkel retainer is easy to work, even in thick gloves.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Divers who want a corrugated snorkel that won't collapse: a rigid skeleton keeps it open, a soft part eases pressure on the mouth
  • Divers in gloves: the large retainer is easy to work even in thick gloves
  • Divers on busy boats or in classes: a soft splashguard that Aqualung says helps prevent potential injuries
Maybe not for
  • Divers who need the length, weight or bore size before buying: Aqualung's page gives none, so ask us on LINE before you order

FAQ

Is it a flexible or a rigid snorkel?

A bit of both. The corrugated section uses two materials: a rigid skeleton keeps it from collapsing, and a soft material lets it flex, so the mouthpiece sits softly with less pressure on your mouth.

Can I work the retainer in gloves?

Yes. Aqualung says the large snorkel retainer is easy to operate, even with thick gloves.

Is it OK for beginners?

Aqualung does not rate this snorkel by experience level. It says the elliptical valve makes purging easy and the mouthpiece reduces jaw fatigue. Not sure? Ask us on LINE.

How long and heavy is it?

Aqualung's page does not give the length, weight or bore size. Ask us on LINE.

Which colours are there?

Three. Aqualung lists them by code; we name them from the photos: Black (all black), Black/Blue (black tube, blue splashguard and corrugate ribs) and Black/Yellow (black tube, yellow splashguard and corrugate ribs).
