Pro HD Compact is Aqualung's travel BCD: back inflation with integrated weights. Aqualung says it has everything you need without the extra weight or bulk, and that a size ML/L weighs under 2.2 kg with the airway and weight pockets included. It packs flat or rolled. There is no hard pack: the lower tank band lines up with the waistband, and a valve strap pulls the top of the cylinder in towards your centre of gravity, so the load moves to your hips and off your shoulders. The weight pockets click into Aqualung's patented SureLock II system, and one pull drops them in an emergency.

No hard pack, the load on your hips
The tank support system does away with a hard pack. The lower tank band lines up with the waistband, and a valve strap pulls the top of the cylinder in towards your centre of gravity, moving the load to your hips and taking it off your shoulders.
SureLock II weights: push in to click, one pull to drop
The weight pockets line themselves up: push one in until it clicks. In an emergency, a single pull of the release drops the weights. Aqualung holds the patent on this SureLock II system.
Chest strap on a rail, padded shoulders and back
The chest strap's two buckles ride on a rail, so you can raise the strap, lower it or take it off. The shoulders are sculpted and padded, and padding supports your spine and lower back.
Flat valves, two pull dumps
Aqualung's patented flat valves mean less bulk. There is a pull dump on the right shoulder and another at the lower right.
Fold-down pocket, 6 D-rings, knife grommets
A fold-down pocket opens for easy access, 6 D-rings take your accessories, and grommets let you attach a knife.

How do I pick a size?
There are four sizes: XXS/XS, S/M, ML/L and XL/XXL. We don't have Aqualung's size chart for this model yet, so send us your height, body weight and chest size on LINE and we'll help you pick. You can exchange sizes within 7 days if unused and never in the water (you cover shipping both ways unless we sent the wrong item or it is faulty).
How much does it weigh?
Aqualung says a size ML/L weighs under 2.2 kg (4.75 lb) with the airway and weight pockets included. Aqualung's page gives no weight for the other sizes.
How much lift and weight does it take?
Aqualung's page does not give lift or maximum weight figures for Pro HD Compact. It only lists optional non-ditchable weight pockets that mount on the tank band, sold separately. If you need the numbers before you order, ask us on LINE.
How is it different from the Pro HD?
The Pro HD Men's and Women's are wrap-around jackets with fixed trim pockets on the tank band and Resiste K fabric. Pro HD Compact is a back-inflation travel BCD with no hard pack that packs flat or rolled, and its tank-band weight pockets are an option you buy separately. Are there optional extras?
Aqualung lists these options: non-ditchable weight pockets for the tank band, the Air Source, the Squeeze Lock knife and a reflector kit. None come with the BCD; ask us on LINE which ones we can order for you.
Is it OK for beginners?
Aqualung does not name a skill level. What it does say is that it is built for travel, the weights ride in the BCD and one pull releases them. Just starting and not sure whether to pick back inflation or a jacket? Ask us on LINE.
Which colours are there?
There is one colour. Aqualung's page gives only a colour code; in Aqualung's photos the BCD is black with orange panels and trim, so we call it Black/Orange.
