Axiom i3+ Men's

One side lever: pull to inflate, push to vent

Axiom i3+ Men's is Aqualung's jacket BCD with integrated weights and the i3+ system, which Aqualung says is exclusive to its BCDs. One simple side lever handles your buoyancy: pull it up to inflate in small or large bursts, push it down to open all the exhaust valves and vent without changing your body position. Inside, the ultra-thin Wrapture harness holds the BCD snug so it doesn't ride up, and keeps the tank close to your centre of gravity, so you stand and walk upright with ease. The weight pockets lock into the SureLock II system with an audible click and come out with one smooth pull.

Highlights

i3+: one lever to inflate and vent

Aqualung says the i3+ system is exclusive to its BCDs. It puts inflation and all the exhaust valves on one simple side lever. Pull up to inflate in small or large bursts; push down to open all the exhaust valves and vent without adjusting your body position.

Wrapture harness: snug fit, tank held close

The ultra-thin Wrapture inner harness fixes the BCD snug to your body so it doesn't ride up in the water. It spreads the weight evenly by holding the tank closer to your centre of gravity, so you can stand and walk upright with ease.

SureLock II integrated weights, one pull to release

The weight pockets lock into SureLock II with an audible click and come out with one smooth pull. Aqualung lists 9 kg (20 lb) of ditchable weight for sizes XS–ML and 13.5 kg (30 lb) for sizes L–XXL.

Swivelling buckles, finger-saving tank band

Swivelling buckles turn by themselves to follow the shape of your torso. The GripLock tank band closes with a finger-saving metal buckle.

Streamlined when deflated, two zipped pockets

The Bladder Retraction System keeps you streamlined and reduces drag, and Aqualung says it also reduces air consumption. There are two zipped pockets.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Divers who want one lever for buoyancy: pull to inflate, push to vent, without changing position
  • Divers who want a BCD that doesn't ride up: the Wrapture harness holds it snug and keeps the tank close
  • Divers who carry integrated weights: 9 kg (XS–ML) or 13.5 kg (L–XXL) ditchable with one pull, per Aqualung
Maybe not for
  • Divers who need a lift figure before they decide: Aqualung's page does not list one, so ask us on LINE before you order
  • Divers who want a backplate and wing: Axiom i3+ is a jacket BCD; ask us on LINE

Size guide

Not sure about the size?

  • Measure your chest while wearing the suit you dive in.
  • Straps adjust a little, but the right size makes trim in the water easier.

FAQ

How do I pick a size?

There are seven sizes: XS, S, M, ML, L, XL and XXL. We don't have Aqualung's size chart for this model yet, so send us your height, body weight and chest size on LINE and we'll help you pick. You can exchange sizes within 7 days if unused and never in the water (you cover shipping both ways unless we sent the wrong item or it is faulty).

How does the i3+ lever work?

The lever sits on the side of the BCD. Pull it up to inflate, in small or large bursts; push it down to open all the exhaust valves. Aqualung says you vent this way without adjusting your body position.

How much weight does it take, and how much lift?

Aqualung lists 9 kg (20 lb) of ditchable weight for sizes XS–ML and 13.5 kg (30 lb) for sizes L–XXL. Its page does not give a lift figure; if you need it before you order, ask us on LINE.

Is it OK for beginners?

Aqualung does not name a skill level. What it does say is that inflating and venting sit on one lever, and the Wrapture harness holds the BCD snug. Just starting and not sure which type to pick? Ask us on LINE.

Which colours are there?

One: Black/Grey.
