Dimension

Air at your back, a harness that holds you snug

Dimension is Aqualung's men's back-inflation BCD with integrated weights. Inside, the Wrapture harness, with Aqualung's patented swivel shoulder buckles and an ultra-thin back plate, holds the BCD snug so it doesn't ride up on the surface. Out of the water it keeps the cylinder close to your centre of gravity and moves the weight to your hips, so you stand up straight. Every size holds up to 13.5 kg (30 lb) of lead: 9 kg ditchable on the SureLock II system and 4.5 kg non-ditchable in pockets on the back. Resiste K fabric resists fading and abrasion in saltwater and chlorine.

Highlights

Wrapture harness: snug fit, standing tall

Aqualung's patented swivel shoulder buckles and an ultra-thin back plate keep the BCD from riding up on the surface. On land, the harness holds the cylinder close to your centre of gravity and moves the weight to your hips, so you can stand up straight.

SureLock II integrated weights, one pull to release

The weight pockets lock into Aqualung's patented SureLock II mechanical release with an audible click, and one smooth pull on the handle takes them out when you need to drop them.

13.5 kg of lead, part of it on your back

Every size carries up to 13.5 kg (30 lb) of lead: 9 kg ditchable, plus 4.5 kg in non-ditchable pockets on the back that help you get into the right position in the water.

Low profile, less drag

HP hoses route through the back, so your whole kit stays low profile with less drag. Flat valves cut drag further, and the Bladder Retraction System pulls in the sides of the bladder as you deflate to keep you streamlined.

Chest strap on a rail, rolled collar, right-shoulder dump

The chest strap slides up or down on a rail, which helps you clear drysuit valves. A rolled collar sits around your neck, the inflator is a Powerline, and there is an extra pull dump on the right shoulder.

Octo pocket

Your octo has a pocket of its own on the BCD; Aqualung's photo shows it tucked in there.

Instrument pocket

A pocket for your instruments; in Aqualung's photo it holds a gauge console.

Two large pockets, D-rings, knife points

Two large utility pockets are easy to reach into, and there are several D-rings and knife attachment points.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Divers who want a back-inflation BCD that doesn't ride up on the surface: the Wrapture harness holds it snug and keeps the tank close
  • Divers who carry a lot of lead: every size takes up to 13.5 kg, 9 kg of it ditchable with one pull
  • Drysuit divers: the chest strap slides on a rail to clear the suit's valves
  • Divers who use both the sea and the pool: Resiste K fabric resists fading and abrasion in saltwater and chlorine
Maybe not for
  • Divers who need a lift figure before they decide: Aqualung's page does not list one, so ask us on LINE before you order
  • Women who want a women's cut: Dimension is the men's model, and the Lotus is Aqualung's women's back-inflation BCD, with curved shoulder straps and side lobes shaped for a woman's body
  • Divers who want a jacket BCD: Dimension is back inflation, while the Axiom is Aqualung's jacket with the same Wrapture harness and SureLock II weights; ask us on LINE

Size guide

Not sure about the size?

  • Measure your chest while wearing the suit you dive in.
  • Straps adjust a little, but the right size makes trim in the water easier.
  • Between two sizes? Ask us before you order.

FAQ

How do I pick a size?

There are five sizes: S, M, ML, L and XL. We don't have Aqualung's size chart for this model yet, so send us your height, body weight and chest size on LINE and we'll help you pick. You can exchange sizes within 7 days if unused and never in the water (you cover shipping both ways unless we sent the wrong item or it is faulty).

How much weight does it take, and how much lift?

Aqualung says every size holds up to 13.5 kg (30 lb) of lead: 9 kg (20 lb) ditchable and 4.5 kg (10 lb) non-ditchable in the pockets on the back. Aqualung's page does not list the lift; if you need it before you order, ask us on LINE.

How is it different from the Lotus?

Both are Aqualung back-inflation BCDs with the Wrapture inner harness and SureLock II integrated weights. Dimension is the men's model; the Lotus is the women's, with specially curved shoulder straps and side lobes shaped for a woman's body. Still deciding? Ask us on LINE.

Is it OK for beginners?

Aqualung does not name a skill level. What it does say is that the Wrapture harness holds the BCD snug and keeps you upright, and that the back weight pockets help you get into position in the water. Just starting and not sure whether to pick back inflation or a jacket? Ask us on LINE.

Which colours are there?

One: Black/Grey.
