EVX200

Seven ports, a reversible second stage and an adjuster you can turn in gloves

Apeks calls EVX200 an evolution of its most advanced regulator technology, made for divers who crave adventure in the most demanding environments. As you descend, the over-balanced first stage raises hose pressure faster than the water around you, which Apeks says gives superior performance at depth. A heat exchanger in the second stage draws in warmth from the water for a more comfortable breath, and the large adjuster is easy to turn in gloves. Designed and manufactured in the UK.

Highlights

Over-balanced first stage with heat-exchanging ribs

A chrome-plated brass body with heat-exchanging ribs and a ribbed diaphragm clamp for cold water. As you descend, the over-balanced design raises hose pressure faster than ambient, which Apeks says gives superior performance at depth.

Seven ports for clean hose routing

Five MP ports improve hose orientation and two angled HP ports suit hose routing and transmitters. The ACD system keeps water out of the first stage, and a double swivel hose gives more freedom of movement and comfort.

Reversible second stage with breathing adjuster

Reversible for a left- or right-hand gas supply, with a large breathing-effort adjuster that is easy to use in gloves in cold water. It also has a laminar flow valve, a two-stage progressive purge button and a Comfo-bite mouthpiece.

Diver Changeable Exhaust (DCE)

Change between a small and a large exhaust tee yourself; the regulator comes with both sets.

Who it is for

Great for
  • Divers who crave adventure in demanding environments, the diving Apeks designed it for
  • Cold-water divers: Apeks lists it as EN250A cold-water certified, and the breathing adjuster works in gloves
  • Divers who want to swap the hose side, or need plenty of ports for a transmitter and extra hoses
Maybe not for
  • Divers who want a regulator built around recycled materials: look at the XL4 OCEA

FAQ

EVX200 or XL4 OCEA: what is the difference?

Both have an over-balanced first stage, EN250A cold-water certification, a Comfo-bite mouthpiece and a venturi lever, and both are designed and made in the UK. EVX200 adds a reversible second stage, a large breathing-effort adjuster, a laminar flow valve, 5 MP ports and two sets of exhaust tees. XL4 OCEA is built around recycled and bio-based materials, with a compact second stage and 4 MP ports. Still deciding? Ask us on LINE.

DIN or INT: which one should I choose?

It is how the first stage connects to the tank valve, so match the valves you dive with. EVX200 comes in both DIN and INT (yoke). Not sure? Ask us on LINE.

Is it OK for beginners?

Apeks calls EVX200 the flagship of its EVX range and says the range is designed for all divers, from tropical waters to the most demanding conditions, at depths of up to 50 metres. New to diving and unsure how many adjustments you need? Ask us on LINE first.

Can I run the hose from the left?

Yes. Apeks made the second stage reversible, for a gas supply from either the left or the right.

Can I use it in cold water?

Apeks lists it as certified for cold-water use (EN250A). The first stage has heat-exchanging ribs and a ribbed diaphragm clamp, the second stage has a heat exchanger that draws in warmth from the water for a more comfortable breath, and the nylon braided hose, Apeks says, performs better in cold water than traditional rubber hose. The large adjuster is easy to turn in gloves.

Can I use it with nitrox?

Apeks lists it as compatible up to 40% O₂ when new, out of the box (21% in Europe). Planning to dive nitrox? Ask us first.
