42 lb of lift for aluminium or steel, in warm water or cold
Dive Rite built the Nomad Ray over years of design, field testing and feedback from what it calls some of the world's leading sidemount divers and instructors. The result is flat and streamlined, with an ergonomic shape that sits tight against your body. Dive Rite says it suits aluminium or steel tanks, in warm or cold water, from entry-level sidemount dives to demanding technical exploration. 42 lb of lift carries heavy steel tanks and several stage or deco bottles, and the independently adjustable harness sets up quickly for any diver. A zipper inside the wing opens three padded pockets for hard or soft weight. Dive Rite's feature notes say each holds up to 5 lb.
The harness adjusts point by point and sets up quickly. One size, fully adjustable, with user-replaceable 2-inch webbing; shoulder and waist webbing replace separately if damaged or trimmed too short. 42 inches of bungee per side adjusts fast without tools, and a quick-adjust belly band with a bungee hook keeps the wing wrapped snugly around you.
Fast-drying, highly durable, slash-resistant SuperFabric®, with 600-denier nylon on the back centre panel and 1000-denier nylon on the diver's side, over a heavy-duty laminated 420-denier nylon inner bladder. A skid plate guards where wear is heaviest.
The 16-inch corrugated inflator hose swaps to the left or right side. One pull dump/OPV sits at the bottom outside, offset to your left for a low-profile back and easier reach with multiple cylinders or CCRs; a second sits top left inside the wing, with a shoulder pull.
The 42 lb (19 kg) bladder; the system weighs 5.7 lb (2.6 kg).
Adds a bailout bladder with 25 lb (11.3 kg) of lift. Dive Rite notes the bailout bladder assembly adds 1 lb to the dry weight.

Yes. Dive Rite says it is versatile enough for open water as well as technical diving, with good buoyancy and trim control, which makes it a good choice for recreational divers who want a streamlined setup.
Yes. Dive Rite says it is particularly well suited to cold water, because its durable materials and high lift handle the extra bulk and weight of drysuits and added equipment.
Single bladder gives you the 42 lb bladder; dual bladder adds a 25 lb bailout bladder and 1 lb of dry weight. Not sure which suits your diving? Ask us on LINE.
Three padded pockets sit behind a zipper inside the wing, for hard or soft weight; Dive Rite's feature notes say each holds up to 5 lb. Dive Rite warns not to overfill them: make sure the weights can drop out freely, or you may not be able to drop them in an emergency.
One size, fully adjustable. Dive Rite's quick-start guide: line the bottom edge of the wing up with the top of your butt, snug the waist strap on your hips (it rides lower than on a traditional harness), adjust the crotch and shoulder straps, and trim excess webbing and bungee only once you are happy with the fit.
